Background Checks and Apostilles
APB Notary & Apostille can secure an apostille for background checks issued by any of the 50 U.S. States, including the District of Columbia. This includes checks from city, county, state, or federal levels.
For an FBI background check, please contact the FBI directly as per their website instructions. Once obtained, mail us your FBI background check for apostille processing. Rush processing is available for FBI Background Checks, with standard processing up to 8 weeks.
Local police and sheriff’s department checks are also acceptable in many countries. Ensure the officer’s or deputy’s signature is notarized on the document before mailing it to us for apostille processing.
For checks required by the Department of Justice, contact your state’s DOJ for their procedure. If abroad, contact the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate for assistance in obtaining a U.S. background check.
Important Information
An apostille on an FBI Background Check is issued if the requesting country is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention. For non-member countries, special authentication and legalization processes are required.
The apostille process can be complex. To avoid errors and delays, trust APB Notary & Apostille with your background check apostille needs.
